In this class we are covering everything that goes into designing with color and light. Good design is the most important thing in a painting.  A painting with a good design is like a people magnet, you are drawn to it and you want to keep looking at it. The longer you look at it the more you see. It’s the special ingredient that makes a painting stand out.

This class  introduces you to all the elements used in designing a painting and working with color & light. We will discuss and look at  simplification and unification of shapes and masses, abstraction, cropping, framing, value, color, line, rhythm and pattern all through the language of color & light. We will focus on color, how it affects the viewer and how to work with color to make the statements we want. We will build our color skills  with observation,  warm ups, drawing and painting exercises and homework to help solidify all this new information into your painting brain.
